Journal entry by Millicent Fauntleroy —
Whitney considers herself fully recovered from the surgeries she had in May. That’s because she is no longer required to wear the cervical collar she had worn around the clock since May 11. She is no longer staring at the floor and her feet and can look ahead to see what’s ahead of her. In fact, she wanted me to share the good news that this week, she is in Harrisonburg, Va., at the Massanetta Springs Camp and Conference Center helping to lead a summer session for middle-school-age Presbyterians. The lone concession she asked for was to be allowed to be seated as she participates; her endurance remains limited.
So a chair, maybe her wheelchair, maybe not.
Whitney was jubilant today when I spoke with her, and you should be, too. Your support and faith and love have helped to bring this miracle into being. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
