Rick- your words are touching to our Family. We are proud of Dad’s service to our country but very touched that you are choosing to “be more like him”.
His attitude made him a “happy man” and we know he would wish the same for those he cared about.

When reading his story of a Sunday walk around the Mall and his interaction with people make me want to do the same as Wes and when doing so I will think of him with every person I run into. I don't live in Minnesota anymore, but I don't have to live in Minnesota to interact with people like he did. I wiil do that right here in Florida. What a good man he was, and I want to be more like him. Love you Wes

Joan Thank you for posting both the text from you dad .& the Thanksgiving memory as well. Both describe the true essence of who your Dad was.. He really cared about & reached out to all. Now he's in heaven charming the Saints. May we continue to live our lives as well as he did. Love to you & all your family, Cousin Carol

To the McCoy Family:

Thank you for your journal posts and photos during your father's final days. My sincere sympathy to all as you mourn his passing under such heartbreaking circumstances.

Wes and Mary were great friends to my parents over the years, and a special colleague to my Dad at Dow Chemical. They were both North Dakota farm boys who shared an eerily similar life journey. I know he had huge respect for the work Wes did and thoroughly enjoyed his company -- they laughed a lot together! As a kid I remember that constant smile and the twinkle in his eyes. Later in life we were so grateful whenever Wes would visit Midland and check in on my Mom after Dad was gone. I know my entire family admired his integrity and positive spirit. What a beautiful life he lived.

God's comfort and peace in the days ahead,

Judyth Peterson
