Journal entry by Wendy Woerz —
Hi. I am a Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma cancer survivor of 30 years. I was 23 at original diagnosis, and endured 1 year of Radical chemo (2 rounds) and 40 treatments of Radiation.
Over the last 10 years I have Struggled with Anemia. In the last 18 months it has been severe enough to need constant blood transfusions. (my hemoglobin dropping well below 6.0)
Currently, I am receiving 2 units of red blood cell transfusion every two weeks. This has been my regiment for the last year. I have had over 40 Transfusions and I am currently suffering from iron overload. I need to take medication to chelate the iron out of me. (My numbers are off the chart, in the 2000s.) March 23rd, 2020 I had my 5th bone marrow biopsy. On March 27th, 2020 I was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis- Myelodysplastic Syndrome. I am awaiting a consult for Bone Marrow Transplant. This is the only cure.
I Completely place my trust in Jesus Christ. I know we have all been appointed a Time to die. I am hoping that I am a candidate for an Allogeneic bone marrow transplant. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you and much love to all!
