Journal entry by Jan Spence —
Wow! These last two weeks have been a whirlwind – all of it good! I spent a lot of time at rehab to shadow Wayne as he did his therapy sessions (learned a lot) and was amazed at how rapidly he was improving. I also worked to get the house ready for him to come home, and set things up with home health care. Then on Tuesday, March 30, he was discharged from inpatient rehab! Yay Wayne! He came home, and we met with the home health nurse and rested up for his cranioplasty to replace the skull flap they had removed back in February. They performed the cranioplasty this Thursday, April 1, and after two days, he has been released to come home! Wayne has worked very hard to get to where he is now – walking, enjoying a regular diet, reading, popping jokes. He has made an amazing recovery. There are still things to work on, but we will take where we are with great gratitude. We couldn’t have made this journey without the cards, love, support, prayers and warm thoughts from all of you. Thank you doesn’t begin to express the depth of our gratitude.
A $25 donation powers a page like Wayne's for two weeks.
If you donate by May 12, your gift will be doubled, up to $10,000, thanks to a gift from Living Water Foundation.
