Journal entry by Laura Thompson

It has been 5 weeks since Warren came home from rehab! He is still in very intensive outpatient therapies multiple times every single week, and is still needing to check in with the fantastic team in Fargo.  He also still has tests going on related to his condition.

He spends the majority of his time in bed and everyday works on relearning all of the things he lost in the accident. He has a lot of damage still in his brain that is challenging. He lacks a short term memory and can't even remember watching a movie 30 minutes later. They are trying so hard to work on things to get him back to a normal teenager as much as possible. He has to do a full assessment all day in a weeks just to get an idea if it’s a realistic goal for him to be back at school in January.

Currently, he needs someone with him 24/7 and even needs to be reminded to do things like go to the bathroom. He needs the assistance of a walker to get around and has terrible issues with balance. He also very sadly can't draw anymore which was his favorite thing to do previously. It's still a long road ahead.

The family still need things for assisting at home and could really use some more financial assistance for things like gas and appointments needed for Warren to recover the best he can. Dave and the kids live in a rural area which means a lot of travel and a lot of expenses are still incurring. Warren's birthday is on the 29th of October and he could really use a new laptop, something Dave would really like to be able to get him since he spends so much time in bed and Warren's was damaged in the accident.
