Newest Update

Journal entry by Kristina Hayes

You have all been on my mind and in my heart.  It occurred to me that it was time for an update on the Hayes family and our lives now without our knight, leader, best friend, dad, son, brother, and grand father. We miss him and see him and his works everywhere.
It is interesting that now as I look back on life as it was together I realize how our bond and friendship was what made life so incredible. Everything we did even though we did the ordinary mundane things without one another on a day to day basis, how full our hearts were while doing them.  We were together at the end and beginning of everyday. He was the ying to my yang. “Us” is what made all of our gatherings with family, friends and colleagues so fun, so memorable. He was in one room and I in the other. If you visited you never felt alone and were always entertained. We were soul mates.
So many throw away a beautiful relationships because it becomes hard, has controversy or a disagreement. It will pass. Sleep on it, take a break for an hour or a day. You won’t agree on everything, no one does. There is a reason the only contract you will ever sign, as you prepare to sign it you vow “through sickness and health, richer or poorer, until death do you part”. The marriage contract is the hardest contract in life to fulfill but the most beautiful of all. Thank you Warren for the most beautiful 33.5 years.

In December I realized that I had to have new purpose in my life, I made 3 commitments to myself.
1. January 1 I committed to read the entire bible this year. Tara Leigh Cobble has a fantastic bible study called The Bible Recap. It takes 15-20 minutes per day. It is a plan within the Bible ap on my phone and is free.
2. In December I went back to Orange Theory and started working out. Good for the body, mind and spirit.
3. Playing with the Cimarron Hills LGA is special and important to me. I try to play at least 3 of 4 Wednesday’s per month and all of the tournaments provided family doesn’t need me of a dear friend.
Traveling was something Warren and I enjoyed and you all know we did most of our travel in an RV. Well I bought one, her name is “Queen Bee”. Traveling across the country from time to time in her playing golf along the way. It won’t be the same without Warren but several of our friend's and my girl friends have volunteered to be my co- pilots.
Our children and grands are all doing great. Marshall and Kinslee have birthdays coming up in July. Marshall will be 3, Kinslee 2. Maverick is now walking and can say grandma.
Kristinn is having knee surgery April 2nd and will be non-weight bearing for 6 weeks so grandma will be needed the month of April. Please pray for a successful outcome for her. The kids, grand kids, Warren’s mom and sister Michelle check on me regularly, we spend time together often.  Susan is so busy planting her green house. Her energy at 78 is incredible and she is one of the most dynamic women I know. The many neighbors, friends and colleagues that we love are still in my life. How blessed I am.
Life is different that is for certain. We are blessed beyond words. Daily I look around at the beauty God made and marvel at it. My focus is on cherishing the times spent with each of you, listening more intently and truly appreciating the gift of your time and the beauty within.
Know that we love you all, we would love to see your smiling faces and give you a hug.
