Wanda’s Story

Site created on November 17, 2020

Wanda was in a car accident Sunday Nov 15 East of Hayward when she was hit by another vehicle coming from the opposite direction that struck her truck on the drivers side.  She needed to be extracted and an ambulance took her to the local hospital where they discovered she sustained fractures to her ribs, had some internal bleeding, and some minor cuts and bruises.  She was airlifted to Duluth St. Mary’s ER and continued care there.  She has been sent to Neuro ICU and has undergone successful surgery on her pelvis, which is the most serious of her injuries.  At this point she has multiple rib fractures, fracture to her pelvis and breast bone, open wound to her left ankle, dislocation on her right foot, and may have had a concussion.  Thankfully no head injuries.  We are hoping all is well with her back which she had surgery in June.  She is currently intubated to help her breath and has been sedated to keep her comfortable.   Pray for Wanda and her recovery as she’ll have a long road to full recovery after her hospital stay.

Welcome home Wanda!!  She’s here and our life continues.   Still weak and tired but she’s making GREAT strides in her recovery.  Just amazing to see her and have her back home.
