Wally’s Story

Site created on December 7, 2019

As many of you might know, Wally was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) just a couple of days before Thanksgiving. He ended up  at St. Mary’s hospital in Madison for treatment and was then transported to St. Agnes in Fond du lac on Dec. 5 for intensive rehab.  He was not getting better, and, in fact, was getting weaker. So on Saturday, Dec. 7 the neurologist  decided to send Wally back to  St. Mary’s in Madison for a new and more aggressive treatment (plasmapheresis) to combat the symptoms of GBS. This treatment will last at least 10 days.  Thankfully he has a nice big TV to watch the Badgers this eve and the Packers tomorrow. In the meantime, he would love to hear from you. Thanks to everyone who came out to golf today in honor of my dad. It was so cool to see so many people gathered to participate in one of his all time favorites...golf. Covid did not allow for a proper memorial for him, but I think this is what he would’ve wanted. This year we were only allowed 44 golfers, but next year we’ll fill the course. Once again we are overwhelmed and thankful for the support from family and friends.
