Eric’s Story

Site created on July 23, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website.

Eric was born with a Bicuspid  Aortic Valve (BAV) and has been under cardiac care for most of his life.  Though he was not experiencing any physical symptoms and living a normal life, based on diagnostic testing he was advised that the time has come for his aortic valve replacement.  After extensive research and expert recommendation Eric has chosen a fairly new mechanical valve, the On-X valve.

Studies have shown that  the On-X valve requires less blood thinners not to mention its key innovative features that reduces risks from traditional mechanical valves.   Eric will be undergoing surgery July 31st and we are using this site to keep our family and friends updated in one place.

We expect that Eric will be in the hospital for approximately 5-7 days and recovering at home for a few months. We appreciate your  prayers and words of  encouragement.
Eric 2.0 to come!  Thank you for visiting and appreciate your support.

Journal entry by Patty Villagomez

With Our Lord’s blessing I was able to fulfill the promise I made to my kids the day we left to the hospital. I promised them that with God’s blessing I was walking into the hospital with their Daddy and only leaving when I could walkout with him! My love is home! Recovery part 2 💜 begins today. Thank you to my mother, father and sister in law for caring for our girls when we could not. #blessed
