Hello all, it has been a while since we last updated. Vern remains at RML. When I last talked to my mom this afternoon, he had been off the ventilator for a little over 24 hours, had sat on the edge of the bed for about 10 minutes, and was able to sit for small intervals of time without support. He has been alert and able to mouth answers to questions as well. These are big strides for him. He has developed a large pressure wound on his bottom.  They have been cleaning it and keeping making sure they keep an eye on it, but this is the next challenge we must face. We have been making progress and this does give us hope, but we remain cautiously optimistic. Thank you for your continued support and prayers
