Journal entry by Eileen Stevens —
We've been out of town but I (Eileen) did stop to see Verna Mary on Friday. She was confused at times and somewhat paranoid but calm and friendly. However Saturday was a different story. She was very confused and angry. They had to take her phone from her again as she was calling people. She called somebody in Madison that she needed help. Not sure what that conversation was but it prompted them to call Madison police with her phone number per caller ID; Madison police called Richland Center police, etc) . . . So if you want to talk with Verna Mary, please call Harvest Guest general number first, let them know you want to talk with her and they will get her phone to her.
She is paranoid, saying that people coming and going in/out of her room; yelling at staff all the time that her phone is ringing then yells at them as they won't give her the phone to answer it. She tells us people were there to visit that have not (family from state of Oregon/Washington)
She goes to LaX tomorrow to see her surgeon to see how things are healing up. When I visited her Friday she told me she was at Gunderson "yesterday" and they let her walk on her own (then she giggled and told me that I could not tell Harvest staff or they'd get Gunderson in trouble for letting her walk)
Dave will ask her primary doctor at Gunderson about the testing for dementia/alzheimers to see where things stand there.
