Clark’s Story

Site created on February 5, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. In late October Clark had a common virus with a few days of fever and congestion which have started us on a long road of adolescent autonomic dysfunction. It displays itself differently in  different patients. For Clark he has been dizzy and passing out, vomiting several times a day,  experiencing extreme fatigue , and pain and numbness in his extremities. This has kept him from being able to attend school.  The good news is Vanderbilt Cardiology has placed Clark on a medicinal regimen that has really helped decrease his fainting.  Since Clark is still struggling with all the other symptoms Vanderbilt has recommended that we seek addition care at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Our first trip up to Mayo will happen the first week of March.   We would love ALL the prayers we can get!

Journal entry by Lisa Vegors

Hey Friends,

Lisa just texted me to let me know that Clark came out of his procedure just fine.  Everything appeared to be normal.  There is some biopsy stuff we have to wait on, but nothing alarming.  This is a double win for us as it not only gives him a clean bill of health for his digestive system, but it also means one less hurdle to overcome to get enrolled in his 3 week camp this summer to learn about dealing with auto-dys (because typing autonomic dysfunction over and over is gonna get old).

As always, your support means more than you could ever know as we navigate this auto-dys world and try to figure out how to finish seventh grade and also decide on a course of action for eighth grade.  So lift up those prayers and we'll just keep on keepin' on.

God Bless,

Josh
