Hello all,

Sorry for the long pause in reports, there was a lot of coming and going from Walton Rehab and different family members spending time with Nanee. The good news is our favorite red head is back home in Aiken. Jewel returned home on Thursday afternoon and she was thankful to be reunited with her sweet cat Sophie and sleep in her own bed. Jewel's daughter Lindy stayed with her most of last week and made the arrangements for her to go home because Kristy and Ashley were out of town. We are so thankful for Lindy and the wonderful love and care she gave Nanee last week.

Jewel will continue to receive occupational and physical therapy treatments at home and she has round the clock care to help her during this in-between time. She has an increase in her physical strength and she is getting around her house easily with her walker. We are still noticing that her memory isn't quite what it used to be so she will see her physician this week and a neurologist next week. 

My mom and I went to see her this morning. She was in the care of a wonderful woman named Tabitha. She was able to help Nanee take a long shower, do her make up and hair and put on something nice and even some jewelry. She looked like the beautiful Jewel we all know and love.

Her wonderful church has been bringing her meals and she is so thankful for their visits. Her friend Terry brought her lunch today, steak and twice baked potato! No more hospital meals for Jewel! She had visits lined up with friends all afternoon and was in great spirits.
