Newest Update

Journal entry by Alexander Pedregon

I’ve started this message several times because these words are difficult for me to write. I’ve been getting worried messages, calls and texts about my health so it seems necessary to write this. My cancer has returned (as Ovarian cancer does) And I will need the love, support and prayers of all my friends and family. I’m still pretty darn strong but I’m tired. After my initial and last bout with chemo I had extensive damage to my right hand (neuropathy) the chemo I’m taking this time is very new and is supposed to be very promising in reducing and or killing off the tumor in my liver however there are some dangerous side effects. The worst is hair loss, just kidding, that’s the least of my problems. This drug can cause extensive heart damage so I had a battery of tests to make sure my heart was strong enough and I passed🏼 I will be taking 2 different drugs (Bevacizumab and Doxorubicin), the latter being the dangerous one but could be effective with preventing reoccurrence. I was thinking that I might need a medical bracelet with the names of these two because I’m sure I will never remember or know how to pronounce the names of/when needed. In addition the new drugs will cause more nerve damage to my hand. My family has created a page (click here) on the Caring Bridge app where you can get all the latest news and updates on my progress, as it’s getting harder and harder for me to respond to individuals by text or message.  I will do my best to respond to your individual calls, emails, texts and posts, but if I am unable to get back to you directly, you'll know the reason why. Please keep me in your prayers and thoughts and I will accept prayers and good thoughts from anyone who is willing to offer them up.
