Colleen’s Story

Site created on December 3, 2021

Hi everyone! We are so grateful for such a wonderful community that surrounds my mom and our family. We thought this would be the best way to keep everyone in the loop on mom's health journey. To give some background mom started having symptoms of COVID on November 23rd. Over the next week her symptoms began to worsen. On the following Tuesday November 30 mom was admitted to IU North Hospital and is now in the ICU for labored breathing. Once in the hospital they found that she has double pneumonia from COVID. We feel blessed that Dad brought her to the hospital when he did so she can get the proper care to get her healthy again.

Hello all,

Mom is over the moon to be home, and is doing great getting around and back to her normal routine with the oxygen! She's had visitors and Dad has consistently been with her to help with the transition back. She's taking it one day at a time, doing her exercises and strengthening her lungs so she can get back to life without the oxygen machine.

Once again we feel so blessed for the love, prayers, and community that surrounds mom. She has come so far with everyone's help.
