Journal entry by Tara Cocco —
We stopped the Seroquel last night to see if dad will start waking up more so he can participate in his physical therapy (PT) and occupational therapy (OT). Monday morning although very tired.. he was more awake with orientation and confusion. He started to have runs of sinus tachycardia (Heart Rate over 80’s for him). They obtained a EKG which was normal, so they stopped another medication (Myrbetriq) that could be causing tachycardia. We are also focusing on his fluid intake. Tuesday he slept most of the day so he did not drink much. They gave him fluids last night to help with urine output. Today (Wednesday) he is more alert and although confused at time-more oriented. We shaved him (or I made him shave himself with his electric shaver). Tomorrow the plan is to run lab work and then hoping to get him to the Pines of Sarasota (a rehab and skilled nursing facility) before this weekend.
