Journal entry by Tyler Jones

Today I had the procedure done to remove the port-a-cath from my chest. This was pretty much the last thing on the list that needed to get done in order to move on so I feel like a normal human being again! The surgery itself was a little weird because instead of knocking me out they just numbed the area so I was awake the whole time and could feel some things sliding around in my check which didn’t feel very good. I would compare it to somebody yanking on a string that’s attached to your collarbone, just a weird sensation but no pain thanks to the lidocaine. They were gonna throw it away but I convince them to let me take it home as a souvenir. Also my head is making some noticeable progress toward having hair again! It’s been about 7 weeks since my last infusion so it’s definitely taking it’s time coming back plus I know that not all of the follicles are growing yet because it would be more dense, oh well. I’m gonna take a week or two and lay low to let the incision heal and then I’ll be back outside in the sun and the water. I feel very good for anybody wondering, almost no difference in status quo compared to pre-treatment.
