Tyler’s Story

Site created on June 22, 2022

On Wednesday, June 22, Tyler was involved in an incident at his residence. He was utilizing a boom to cut a tree down. As he was raising the boom, his head came in contact with a utility line. He suffered a severe electrical injury. Tyler was transported to Avera by ambulance. His injuries required him to be sedated and intubated. After a short ER stay, he was flown to Saint Elizabeth hospital in Lincoln, NE. The biggest concerns are keeping a good airway and addressing the many third degree burns. He is receiving continuous monitoring and will have one of two surgeries on Thursday morning for skin grafting. He is going to have a long recovery ahead of him. All the positive thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

We have had lots of people asking if they can send donations. We are not going to set up a GoFundMe account due to the fees. Alexis and Melisa both have Venmo accounts in their names.

Skin graft on Tyler’s head is done! Now it’stime for healing.

We will follow up next week to make sure it’s healing correctly and then we are praying that is our last visit to Lincoln.

We switched his neurosurgeon to Sioux Falls as of last week & earlier this week we did an MRI of his back, everything is still looking stable. We are going to start with tigger point injections to help with pain. If that doesn’t help we will look into the next step as it’s still painful (even though he doesn’t show it.)

Thank you everyone for checking in even when I haven’t been posting much lately, life has gotten very busy for us as we are trying to get back to normal as hopefully the appointments/traveling weekly are coming to an end.

We appreciate everyone for everything we have had help with over the last three months between donations, cards, food, watching kids, checking in with us, gifts and the out pour of love & support ♥️

We couldn’t have gotten through this curve ball we got thrown at us without each and everyone that helped us in our time of need.  We will forever be grateful!!

♥️ Love, The Lanphear’s
