Sharon, thanks for the great summary of Alan's life experiences and his many contributions to communities, business enterprises, and especially the love and admiration he expressed for his amazing family. I still have fond memories of working with Alan at the SDSD Foundation for many years. And those flights to visit donors and the great trip we all enjoyed to California to see the SDSU band march in the Rose Bowl parade are particularly memorable. I always enjoyed flying with Alan as he was very professional and was always respective of flight safety practices. Alan would have been a great Air Force pilot as we talked about military aviation many times. He was a true patriot at heart!

When Alan was diagnosed with cancer, our monthly chats revealed his passion for his spiritual gratitude of the many blessings bestowed upon him during his life. Sharing an occasional Bible Scripture and prayers with him revealed his belief in a beautiful journey beyond his earthly life. He was at peace and reflective of so many friends, colleagues, and loving family and their impressions on his life. A man of faith and gratitude, Alan was a kind hearted person and thoroughly enjoyed life. We miss his jovial sense of humor but know that he is in a better place after a long battle with cancer.

Thanks again Sharon for your countless daily updates on Alan's last year with us. Best wishes for your new venture in Arizona and we know where to plan our trip with the Midwest weather turns cold! Stay in touch and stop by Overland Park if your travels bring you this way.

What a wonderful tribute to Alan - that lovely recap in celebration of his life one year after his death. We certainly think that Alan could consider himself a success by every marker and we enjoyed knowing both of you. You have both been such incredible contributors to making Rochester the best possible. Got a chuckle out of your "2023" listings - you were always a forward looking activist, and so, just following your usual instinct. Hope your move goes well - sounds like a good plan. Good luck, stay safe. Hugs from both of us.

Enjoyed your eloquent recap of Alan's life and priorities. We have dear memories of our fun-filled adventures with you both. So thankful that our paths crossed and our friendship began in Land O Lakes. We wish you the very best in your desert home. We sold our island house and are very happy to be moving full-time to Ponte Vedra this week. Much love, Pat and Debbie

If success was about achievement, doing your very best, trying new things and mastering most of them...then Alan was the ultimate success story. Alan (and Sharon) will always be remembered. I feel blessed that our paths crossed...I consider myself the lucky one. All the best in your new adventure, Sharon. God speed.

Al was my guy. I loved talking to him and debating with him. We loved spending time with you both. I met him in the later retirement years. We went to Mexico together and Al matched us zip lining and rappelling down a pyramid. We appreciated the times we could visit you both and stay at your beautiful house.
