I’m in tears. She was the reason I became a teacher! She Fought so hard for me when I needed to be placed in the 504 program. She made me the student I am today. And the teacher that I hope and pray to be. I will never forget hunting her address down just send her my college graduation invitation and a letter saying how much she meant to me. She replied and sent me the most sweetest letter I have ever received. Later that year I discovered she had passed away. I cried for about two days. She was my favorite teacher and it’s what I hoped to be for my students. She was the most amazing teacher a kid could’ve ever asked for. I’ll never forget every read aloud she read to us. She had a way of making every story come to life and I’ll never forget every lesson she taught me. I find myself having conversations with her every day. Her letter after I graduated said let me know whenever you find a position. I cried so hard because she had passed away before I could let her know that I got a second grade position in Pearland ISD. But I know she knew before I did And I know that she’s with me every single day. I did find my blue bonnet voter registration card from fourth grade in which she had signed off on. Thank you so much for allowing me to share this.
