Troy’s Story

Site created on February 24, 2019

Last Sunday I was diagnosed with a 4 cm sized brain tumor on the right side of my brain. I go in for surgery this Tuesday at UW to have it removed. We'll know more once pathology results come in. Please visit my Caring Bridge website for updates. That's all for now.......

Journal entry by Sarah Wills

Status update: Troy had his follow up appointment yesterday at UW. His staples were removed & incision scar looks great. The pathology results indicate the tumor is a low grade, stage two astrocytoma. This is good news because low grade means less aggressive and there are 4 stages, so stage 2 is good. The neurological oncologist recommends proton radiation for 6 weeks and then 1 year of chemotherapy (TMZ) pill form. We are digesting all the information and recommendations & formulating our game plan. Thank you to everyone for all the warm wishes and prayers. It means the world to Troy.
