Journal entry by Megan DiDonato —
Wow.
The last few months have been quite the "Roller Coaster". Last weekend, We were able to celebrate our Amazing mothers life and mourn her passing. It was truly a beautiful service and celebration of life. We had people from all over the Globe participate in person or via the internet.
It was a sort of "ending" to her passing. We also have been given an "ending" of Dads Covid Journey. While he will continue to battle different ailments associated with Long Haul Covid, he reached a milestone today.
Dad was released from the hospital 89 days ago. He was discharged with lots of restrictions. No driving, no working, must use a walking aid, attend Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Wound Care. He had a wound on his cheek, and rather large (grade 3) bed sore on his behind.
Today, Dad will finish his day with all those restrictions, Therapies and wounds lifted, completed and/or healed. He was officially discharged from his last Therapy today. There was a day that we didn't think Dad would be able to beat Covid. Boy, did he prove us wrong. I can only see one negative in all this. He has always believed that he was invincible, this has only proven that it is quite true.
This will be the last post on here. I feel it is the necessary time to end this page. Thank you to everyone who prayed for Dad and read my ramblings on here. It served as a journal for me and was very therapeutic throughout this crazy last 158 days (December 17 - Now).
Thank you and have an Outstanding Day!!
