Journal entry by Annette Lambeth

Troy was scheduled for heart surgery on April 12, 2021.  He had his bloodwork and Covid test on Friday, April 9 as ordered by Dr. Rubenstein.  His bloodwork was better, in that, his white blood cell count was higher with only one test below the normal range.    Everything looked like a GO.....until Sunday afternoon when we received a call from the hospital informing us that Troy's Covid test came back positive!  Even the nurse who spoke to us could not understand how he could have contracted Covid AGAIN in less than 3 months.  She thought maybe it was due to his low white blood cell count.  He has absolutely NO symptoms, much like the first time he was diagnosed when he had his stroke.

In order for us to leave Mexico and return to the US, we had to have Covid tests.  All of us had a test on April 3 and we all tested negative.  6 days later Troy tested positive!  Neither Tom, Micaela, or I tested positive!  Makes you wonder...........

So, now we wait again.  Surgery will be delayed until later this month as long as the bloodwork is good and he tests negative for Covid.  We can't catch a break!

All in all, Troy is doing well.  His weekly Speech Therapy sessions are getting better and better every time:-). He is driving and eager to get back to work.  However, he can't go back to work until after the heart surgery and recovery period:-/.

More to come, as soon as we know when the new date for his heart surgery.

Attached are some pictures from our R & R to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico:-)
