Journal entry by Ashley Johnson —
Hi everyone-
Some of us friends have had a group text going this last week and Dawn asked one of us to write an entry today. I am not sure I can do justice to her recent posts, but here goes.
I have known Troy for just about 18 years- he and my husband, Nate have been friends for longer than that. As I understand it, Troy moved in across the street from Jeff (or vice versa), Jeff went to high school with Nate's cousin, Craig and they all became instant friends- likely because they all loved to fish! My most fondest memories of Troy included us fishing in the rain in Nate's first boat, ice fishing up on Lake of the Woods, Troy's visits to our house to just check in, Troy and Nate's week away to Canada walleye fishing in September of most every year, and our most recent ice fishing adventure where the cable on our ice house broke just when we were about to leave. Troy to us will never be replaced, his sincere and giving nature will be missed beyond measure and I can't thank God enough for giving us Troy to call our great friend!
As most of you know, Troy would have been 56 years old today! And to celebrate him, we have a table reserved at Jimmy's Food and Drink in Vadnais Heights at 7pm. Please come if you are able to share a story or memory of Troy and to raise a toast him and the life well lived! Hope to see you there!
Attached are some pictures from some good times with Troy!
