Journal entry by Trisha Claborn

When I took the medrol (similar to prednisone) it was scary because I was late taking my last dose in the second day and I felt the bottom half of my body flare up with inflammation so bad I felt like I ran a marathon. It hurt in my hips and my knees and my shins and my ankles and it radiated through my bones in my legs and feet. I laid in bed crying wondering if I would go paralyzed because I had never felt this bad before. Then the third day suddenly my pains faded away. My stomach felt better. My right hand felt like it wasn’t swollen for the first time in four years. It felt like I got a new hand. But the meds were only a one week trial and now that they’re gone I’m having pain all over my body again. All my joints hurt one by one they ache and then my lymph nodes hurt too because they’re so swollen. I had to have an electrocardiogram at the hospital because I have been having chest pain for years but it has gotten worse because it hurts to breath. I was looking through my medical history and it said that my xrays in the hospital after my c-section showed fluid around my liver and a collapsed portion of my left lung. I guess the hospital failed to mention these things to me because they didn’t want to get sued. The xrays were taken because I had fluid in my lungs which was the hospitals fault because during the surgery the nurse who was supposed to be using a dental like tool to suck the spit out of my mouth wasn’t paying attention and gagged me with the tool and i choked on my own vomit. Fuck Marian and Fuck all doctors.
