I get choked up every time I read a post. It seems like everyone is holding their breath in anticipation of this outcome. So many people praying and hoping and crossing fingers. Stay positive, be patient, and take care of each other.

Our son, Trenton Bass, was injured two years ago in a football game resulting in paralysis. As parents wanting nothing more than to protect our children and take their place in a situation like this, our hearts go out to you. I remember the feeling you mentioned, Kurt, about the feeling of the power of prayer (goosebumps) and how this region and communities surrounds you even when they don't know you personally. THAT is what got us through each day and still does! I encourage you to continue taking one day at a time, and most of the time 1 minute or hour at a time. Don't let your thoughts go to the future, keep them in the present. Focus on all the prayers that are being sent for Trevor's healing! These football players, athletes, young children are fighters! We are willing to visit with you if you'd like but I understand the overwhelming outreach you are receiving so I respect your privacy too. Trenton mentioned coming up to visit you this Saturday, even if he can't see Trevor, he'd like to visit with you guys. If you see this message and would be open to that, please let me know. If it's too soon (which we totally understand) that's totally fine. Trenton went to Craig Hospital out in Denver after he was in Avera and they have an amazing TBI unit with many, many success stories. If you want to visit (whenever you are ready), please let us know. We will continue to pray as Trevor comes out of his sedation that his brain will be healed and he won't need to go anywhere except for HOME! Many blessings to you all! Jeff, Missy and Trenton Bass.

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” ~ Matthew 18:20

There is such power in prayer. We are so heartened to hear that you felt the presence of the Holy Spirit around you yesterday! What a true blessing. God is using this time in your life to focus and draw you closer!

So awesome to hear that Trevor has entered a new chapter in his recovery. Thats a major step to get toward waking up. We will continue to pray for him and the rest of the family. We will pray that you all have patience and knowledge! God bless you today as you wait for Trevor to wake back up.

We’ve been watching from a distance as we’ve seen such a great outpouring of love and support and prayers for Trevor and all of you.

This morning, the words of an old hymn keep coming to mind:

Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms. Leaning, leaning...leaning on the Everlasting Arms.

What have I to dread, what have I to fear, leaning on the Everlasting Arms. I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, leaning on the Everlasting Arms.

The words to the song come from Deuteronomy 33:27 which says, “The Eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the Everlasting Arms.

His arms are all powerful. They will never grow weary of upholding you!

Every time we pray and even throughout the day I will say a prayer for healing! Our 8 year old son has been praying each evening during our devotions for him too! We watched a young man from Groton go though this same thing and yes, it’s a marathon, not a quick race but it is possible!! The doctors there in Sioux Falls did such a great job with Hunter and I’m sure will do a fantastic job for Trever! May Gods all powerful healing hand rest on Trever today and always!!
