Hey Travis,

I’m so glad that Brooke is making such long and thoughtful updates for those of us who are pulling for you and your family from afar.

In addition to your close by friends, supporters and medical team members, there is a large ghostly crowd of us out here… fellow Guard members and Airline employees who have known and interacted with you, (even passengers!), and have been frankly charmed by you.

Never underestimate the impact that humor and cheerfulness, and a little self-deprecation — a rare thing among pilots — can have on people.

We only shared study time and meals and driving together for the course of our training at the American “schoolhouse”, but could always pick up where we left off on our phone conversations. I remember contacting you trying to make choices late in my Air Force Reserve career, and of course, talking a little treason about AA management.

Hoping your next treatment helps your symptoms this week, Travis. Praying for you every day.

Yours always,

Steve Robison
