Tracy’s Story

Site created on February 12, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Tracy was diagnosed with suspected ovarian cancer on January 17.  She underwent surgery on January 30 that resulted in a full hysterectomy and mass removal.  The journey will continue with chemo treatments beginning in March  thru July to prevent spread or recurrence.  Tracy feels good and healthy in every other way so  she is  undergoing this treatment with trust in Jesus and the full expectation of long term remission.

I have been blessed with many prayers, cards/notes and offers of help and support that mean the world to me.  Thank you for your love care and concern.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Tracy Brokaw

Wanted to post an update following my Doctor appts this week. Wow I haven’t posted for a year.

The myositis is cleared. I had my final IVIG treatment in February and I am back to normal. So blessed to have gotten Dr. Varadhachary for my neurologist. He is super nice and clearly good at what he does. Steve took pictures.

I also saw my Oncologist on Tuesday (also a wonderful doctor). They do blood work monthly. My cancer marker fluctuates even though I have no other symptoms. He has continued one of the chemo infusions since this all started in 2021. I got round 17 on Tuesday but it is no big deal, doesn’t make me sick and I still have hair :-)  He will continue until my number settles or I develop side effects. He continues to do scans and look for issues. Although I long to be considered in remission it is nice to be watched this regularly so nothing develops that can’t be taken care of. The team is great and I enjoy seeing them each month. I am blessed to have insurance coverage to make it possible.

Wishing you a blessed Easter.
