I think it was 2007 when Tracy and I met at church. As a single mom with two young boys, I had prayed for someone to go to lunch with after church. After Sunday school, she came running up to me in the hallway of the church and said “I think we have similar stories.” We ended up going to lunch and it turned into an every Sunday thing with our kids and Sandi. As time went on, the after church lunch grew to include more and more people. Then it grew to more activities which included Vacations, Disney, camping, house rentals, holidays, etc. My family considered the group our friend family! Tracy had a heart for people, especially those who were a lone, hurting or needing someone. We had so much fun and many adventures. But most importantly we also grew in our relationship with The Lord. He worked in our lives as we were busy living and sharing it. I will always be grateful for my friend and sister in Christ, Tracy. I am also grateful to her wonderful family who opened up their hearts to all of us. Oh yes, our group ended up being called “The Lunch Bunch” after a book Charis read and said, “look Mom, this book is like you guys.” I will especially miss Tracy this Easter as we had so many together; but, it warms my heart that she said she would be having Easter in heaven. Her light will continue to shine in our hearts and her love for Jesus will continue in our hearts as well. One day we will meet again. But until then, we are praying for your family Daniel and Charis. Know that you are not alone. We love you very much!
