Tracie’s Story

Site created on January 18, 2022

Tracie went to church on Sunday morning, January 9th, and seemed fine. Late Sunday afternoon her heart rate went up to 170-190. So they went to the ER. The doctors got the heart rate controlled and discovered she also had pneumonia. Tuesday morning, January 11, she went back into AFib again. They had to do a cardioversion three times to get her heart back into rhythm. She was also put on a ventilator. They have tested her for COVID & Flu twice, but they both were negative. The pulmonologist did a bronchoscope on Wednesday, January 12, & drained lots of fluid off her lungs. They put her on 4 high powered antibiotics to cover everything that could have caused the pneumonia. Tracie was able to come off the ventilator on Thursday morning, January 13 and was moved out of ICU and into a regular room on Friday, January 14. She seemed to be improving everyday until Monday, January 17. Her white blood cell count went back up and fluid began to build up around the lungs and heart. She is being transferred to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, January 18. They plan to do a pericardiocentesis on Wednesday, January 19, to remove the fluid from around her heart.

We have been so blessed by a God who has faithfully responded to our prayers! We are thankful and blessed to have family and friends who stand in the gap for us and lift us up in prayer! Please continue to pray for wisdom, guidance, peace and complete healing!

To say I am blessed and a true miracle is an understatement! I give God all the glory!!
There is no possible way I can personally thank everyone for all the prayers and love over the past three weeks. Anyone that says they never want to live in a small town …well they have never lived in Moultrie/Colquitt County. From the very beginning this community has prayed for me, and loved on my family. We have the best hospital around. I got amazing care from every doctor and department area (and believe me I think I was in every area you could be in). My family has been my rock. They were my encouragement. Richie never hardly left my side. I still have a ways to go to be back 100% but I am on my way. I’ve said it before and I will keep saying it…God is good all of the time. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the prayers!
