Journal entry by Tony Perez

Well, here we are, 55 days since being admitted to the hospital and 41 days since being discharged, and life, for the most part, has returned to “normal.”  With that, this will be the final post of our journey.

Though life is pretty much back to normal, I do have lingering effects of Covid.  Lungs are still not 100% (and they may never be), get winded if overdo it, have to pace myself, get tired easier, and sometimes just feel “off.”  But I’m here and have overcome so much that I can’t help but be so appreciative of where I’m at.  And, I’m confident I will continue to progress and get stronger and stronger.

This was, without question, the scariest, most challenging and difficult experience of my life.  But, it also had its positives as it opened my eyes, made me realize, taught me to appreciate, and strengthened my belief, faith, and love.  Something else I realized is instead of looking at things as a burden, as in “I’ve GOT to….” look at it as “I GET to….”  It positively changes your entire perspective.

As I wrap up this final post I want to thank each of you from the bottom of my heart for following my story….for the love, prayers, and support you gave me and my family….you will always be in our hearts.

By the Grace of God, day by day, little by little, stronger by stronger.

And always remember, “LOOK UP”

With our deepest thanks,
Tony, Kendra, and Josie
