Had my first Chemo (the Gemzore) yesterday and feel pretty good today. My only side affect so far is a slight headache and a little fuzzy vision.  On Monday I get the double whammy  "Gin and Tonic" (Gemzore and Texotere) as Liz said to refer to it! It will take three times as long and I am expecting more side affects just hoping for the best.

I had my last internal radiation yesterday and a CT Scan. The scan was to compare with the one they took shortly after surgery that showed three nodules they were concerned might be cancer.  I got a call about two hours after scan was done  from oncologist  RESULTS: "CANCER FREE".  I will have regular checkups for awhile but really great news! 
I am feeling really good, getting more energy back everyday so should not be long before I am my old self again! Thanks to family and friends who were such a wonderful support through it all.

Sorry for the delay!  I finally had a chest scan and they found 3 VERY small nodules.  Because they had nothing to compare it to they will give me another one in 3 months.  If at that time the nodules are the same size all is good, if they have grown then Chemo will be discussed. 

I had radiation day "0" yesterday.  this was a kind of dry run or dress rehearsal for all the future appointments.  I had Ex Rays taken and got my sexy new tummy tattoos (NOT!) just black not even a pretty purple! I just got home from first REAL radiation and it was a breeze! Took all of 20 min and most of that time was changing into and out of the styling gown. This first week has some strange times (6:10, 4:20 and 12:10) but starting June 13 my daily time is 9:40. So it is mon-fri until July 13.  This is what they consider external radiation.  They tell me the side affects of this radiation is fatigue and is cumulative and I probably won't even notice until week 3 or 4. Week five may be the worst so no vacation plans for JULY!  After July 13 I will have a once a week for 3 more weeks of internal radiation. Not sure about side affects for this type.

I am hoping to celebrate on August first being Cancer free!!!

I am finally getting to my computer to give you an update.  I am feeling great with no pain! I have not taken any pain pills since the first day home.  Doing what I am supposed to do which is NOTHING!!!

I will not get results such as stage of the cancer, type of tumor and follow-up treatment until May 2nd. From what I was told after surgery it is very likely I will have to have chemo or radiation but nothing will start for 4 weeks because they want me to heal first. Ill let you know what's next on the agenda after the 2nd.

It is a little daunting to reply to every message but please know I read EVERY one of them and they brighten my day! I am very grateful for all the good wishes, positive energy and prayers from so many of my friends and family.  I know it is making a huge difference in how I am recovering.

Ok, Toni is at home and resting tonight.  She is trying to get ready for the next few days when the pain killers she was given, NOT morphine (my error), wear off.  We all know how that works, kind of sneaks up on you when you are not looking.  I will update you until she can do it herself.  All looks good and off we go to the next steps.  Crystal
