Tom’s Story

Site created on June 12, 2020

As Dad would say... “I suppose you’re wondering why we’ve gathered you all here today.”

Welcome to the CaringBridge page for Tom Kirk. We are going to be using this page to help keep family and friends updated all in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement!

I (Ashli) will oversee the management of this page in order to reduce stress on my parents, but Dad will also have access so that your well wishes can be shared with him. It has become too overwhelming for him to keep up with texts and Facebook, so we ask that everyone stick to this page for messaging.

Thank you for visiting! We appreciate and love you all ♥️

Newest Update

Journal entry by Ashli Brown

Our apologies for the delay, but we finally have an update for those of you who were waiting for news of our plans for laying Dad’s ashes to rest in Montana.

Mom has been postponing her much-needed 4th spinal surgery ever since Dad’s diagnosis in 2020. Her newest MRI imaging shows progression of the damage to her nerves. She will now require a larger surgery with a significant recovery time.

Her surgery has been scheduled urgently for May 15, 2023 with an expected 6-12 month recovery time.

This will push out our trip to Montana until next year (Summer 2024). In the meantime, Dad’s Montana ashes will be here in Salem on a bookshelf in his beloved office (pictured).

This will be our last CaringBridge post. We are so thankful for the way this site has allowed us to connect with you. We will let those with Montana addresses know about our plans when they are solidified for next summer. If any of you who are not in MT would also like the information, please let us know and we will add you to our list.

Blessings,
The Kirk Family ♥️
