Journal entry by Sue Huebsch —
Hello everyone! This is Tom. How can I ever thank all of you for your prayers and outpouring of love for me? I am tearfully humbled. Your prayers upheld me. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you, Amy for setting this site up for me.
As Suzanne has said I am at home and doing well. Each day I feel a little bit stronger. The oxygen company picked up my oxygen tanks and machine yesterday. I am doing the exercises each day (baby steps and building) as prescribed by the respiratory therapist.
Yes, the virus is horrible. Nobody should have to suffer with it and/or die, yet I feel it was a blessing for me. Being totally exposed and powerless, realizing the life I lived and the millions of people that touched it, and the endless, boundless love God has for us is unimaginable.
At home last night I jotted down many of my thoughts and experiences at the hospital and will hold them dearly. I cannot say enough for the staff at Lakeview Hospital. These caregivers are our heroes, and may God bless them and their families for their sacrifices. Be kind to everyone, yes everyone!
May all of you have a joyful, Merry Christmas!
Tom
