Happy Good Friday to all of you precious folks!
TOM IS HOME!!! He was discharged yesterday around 4pm. I was ELATED when the doctor called yesterday morning and said he could go home! You know I was, don't you?!
He came home on standard oxygen therapy; a low dose: 2L/min. He is quarantined to one room of the house for at least another 7-10 days. Of course he's much more content being quarantined here than in that lonely room at the hospital. But Thank God for the hospital and doctors and nurses and all the wonderful care they gave him! I pray God blesses each of them real good!
Tom will have home health care coming in for as long as he needs it. They will send a nurse, a physical therapist, and a respiratory therapist. The nurse's first visit is tomorrow. When they come, they will be in full protective gear, so this will be an interesting experience.
He is limited to the one room in the house, and he is allowed to sit outside and do some walking along the driveway, weather permitting. I hope he can sit outside for just a little while this afternoon when it's warmer and then definitely tomorrow spend a bit of time outdoors. I know that will feel so great to him. But he's very happy to be right by the bedroom window where the sunshine comes in and he can look outside and see the beautiful green of springtime and, if we open the window, hear the lovely chirping of birds. All of these wonderful blessings that all too often can be taken for granted.
He had a good night last night...rested very well (better than me!). His spirits are definitely up! He is happy to be home and praising God for saving his life! He is so thankful, as am I, for all of you wonderful friends and family for your faithful love, thoughts, and prayers. Knowing you all are there and loving him and praying for him means more than words can ever say. THANK YOU!
Much much love to you all.
Love one another. And everybody else. ;)
