Journal entry by Kim Craven —
Wow! A month has passed since I last posted an update.
I do have a couple of pieces of good news. The compression fractures in Tom’s spine seem to have healed themselves so no procedures need to be done at this point! Also, we had a long consultation with labs and an EKG leading to an eventual bone marrow transplant this fall. All the information and procedures/tests to get to that point are quite overwhelming, but with Tom’s increasing weight and strength it appears he is definitely a candidate for the transplant!
Also coming up next week is a teleconference to discuss setting Tom up for a medical marijuana card. This would hopefully help him in improving his appetite, continuing to gain weight, and providing much needed sleep.
So, on it goes - one step, one victory and one prayer at a time and we’ll beat this!
