Yay for the trach being out! What a trooper through it all. I love the moments as a respiratory therapist when I get to assist a patient in the removal of their trach. To a new found freedom of not being reliant on that tube. For most it's been a long road to get to that point. The joy you see on the patients face is immeasurable. Congrats and prayers in your victories Caleb. We all continue praying for you and think about you and how you are doing daily.

Even though you don't know me, I have been tracking Caleb's progress (as well as the status of the rest of your family members). In 2011 our 26 year-old son was in a rollover accident in which he sustained a TBI. He was in a coma for several weeks, but not nearly as long as Caleb was in a coma. Our David also ended up at Madonna Hospital--a great place of mercy and healing.

I have been praying for you all as I think of you, which is often because I can identify with some of the emotional challenges you are dealing with. I am grateful for the spiritual insights/applications which you add to the ends of your posts.

I prayed for Caleb yesterday as I knew that was the day of his surgery. I am praying that the Lord will restore his sight. (Jeremiah 32:17 "Ah, Sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched hand. Nothing is too hard for You.") This morning I was hoping to find a post on CaringBridge, but when I looked early this morning, it was not there. As I now sit at my school computer, I logged into my CB account. And there was your post! Thank you!

I will continue to hold all of you before God's throne of mercy and grace. Sending love your way.
