I loved this post! I so well remember when our son David was first beginning his speech therapy sessions. He was not communicating at all. His eyes had this blank vacancy. My husband and I were there for his first speech therapy session. His therapist was testing his ability to swallow without aspirating. We were sitting on a couch a few feet away from the two of them. His therapist (so kind) said, " David, your parents are sitting over there. Can you wave to them? " He waved! Such a baby step but what a great victory! You all are on our prayer list!
