Journal entry by Paul Clark —
Hello everyone,
With deep sadness and gratitude for Tina's life, we want to let you all know that Tina went to be with the Father at about 1:00 PM Eastern time, Monday 2-14-22. She was with her daughter-in-law Carmen, who read scripture to her as she took a final breath and went Home. Her granddaughter Corinne played guitar and sang to her, and her sister Judy and brother-in-law Ron visited with her during the morning.
We know this chapter in Tina's life has come to a close much faster, much more quickly than anyone expected. Just a few short weeks ago, we thought we had 2 - 4 months with her. However, she had difficulty understanding what was being said to her and had great difficulty speaking and making herself understood. We all know how important talking and being with her family, friends, and work colleagues was to her. Being so limited was an incredible burden for her. She is now much freer and happier, and has, no doubt, been welcomed by a loving God and many, many loving family members and friends that have gone ahead of her.
One of Tina's friends noted, "Isn't it interesting that Tina transitioned on Valentine's Day, a day of love. She always saw the best in people - quick to show love through adjectives and complements filled with love. A day focused on love is quite appropriate for her!"
Funeral home visitation will take place Thursday February 17, 2:00-8:00 PM at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road; the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday February 18, 1:00 PM at St. John Paul II Church, 3521 Goldsmith Ln. The family asks that any memorial expressions be made as donations to The Crusade for Children https://www.whascrusade.org/4-ways-to-give/ or the Conventual Franciscan Friars https://franciscansusa.org/make-a-gift/
We are asking anyone interested in supporting the family to sign up to bring food during the Thursday visitation at this Signup Genius link, https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0F4AABA723A5FE3-food
As always, we are so grateful for your texts, hugs, words of support, prayers & spiritual support, and stories of Tina, that now are even more important to us. Know we pray for and love all of you.
A $25 donation to CaringBridge powers a site like Tina's for two weeks. Will you make a gift to help ensure that this site stays online for them and for you?
