Tim’s Story

Site created on October 18, 2018

On August 22nd my father woke up in the morning with a bad stomach ache as we were about to leave for work. It was just another routine day and he was in the greatest of health to this point. I told him to stop into the local ER and see what’s wrong and to let me know what they find out. 15 minutes later I get a call from the ER doctors telling me that my father has to be life flighted up to Cleveland Hospital ASAP or he’s not going live.
He suffered a major Aorta Aneurism above his kidneys. 7 weeks later he is still in ICU fighting for his life.
It’s been physically and mentally exhausting for me and my family to go through this but prayers and high spirits have kept us all together.
Like I have always said during my life that my parents are my true heroes and always will be.
I hope everyone here is doing well and a word of advice is to spend as much time as you can with family because you never know what tomorrow brings.

Journal entry by Tim Stover Jr.

They detected abnormal heart rhythm which he might have had a heart attack but he has not complained about any pain or discomfort. As a precaution they will do a heart cath later this afternoon to get a good look at things. He is very alert and talking but briefly cried because he feels that he is letting us all down with this setback. When we first walked in the room it was dark,no lights, window shade down and no tv. I had a long talk with him and said he will not give up on us because we will never give up on him. I then said “Dad I’m going to brighten up this room and your going to watch tv and pretend that your at home with family and friends”
Then I said to him if he’s walking on a path in the woods and a fallen tree is blocking his path will he just stand there and stare at it or overcome that obstacle and step over it. At that point he grabbed my hand and his eyes lit up and said ok son I can do this.
