Journal entry by Amy Rolando-Sexton

“This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad” Psalm 118:24

It’s with a heavy heart, that we announce Tim passed away at 3:17 AM on March 4th.  Tim was given a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer February 27, 2020. At that time, the doctors and experts gave him no more than six months to live. He lived over a year!

We are eternally grateful to God for so many blessings over these 12 months.  The fact that we had so much extra time to spend with Tim, and the connections that we were able to make in his final year. He was able to spend several weeks reconnecting with his daughter,
And a high school friend living in Los Angeles just happened to reach out to try and find him, flying home to Minnesota to spend a week with Tim in early February. They hadn’t seen each other in over 35 years.

Tim was an anomaly, mystifying The hospice team, and all of those who lovingly cared for him at the Villa of Osseo. They would shake their heads, not being able to explain how he can possibly still be alive, and playing the guitar so skillfully just days before he passed away.

Please check out his guitar playing here:

Our oldest sibling Marc, was visiting Tim the evening of March 3rd.  Calling us on his way home at 8 PM he said it was such a good visit he wouldn’t be surprised if ‘Tim was still with us in April.

However, that was not to be. Just eight hours later he passed away with Hannah his nurse and another aide, had Christian rock music playing near his ear and lovingly held his hands as he took his final breath.

Entire Rolando family is extremely grateful to all of our friends and relatives that have supported us to this very difficult time.

Memorials preferred to, Tim Rolando memorial fund.

Funeral services will be held at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church church in Hamel,  Minnesota at 11 AM on March 9th.
