Timothy’s Story

Site created on August 31, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  This is Tim's story.  He was diagnosed with APL Leaukemia in May of 2019. He was hospitalized from 5-19 until 6-21 . He had daily arsenic & ATRA treatments & was released  after 33 days with no sign of malignant cells & in remission! He has to have maintanance  treatments M-F for 4 weeks on & then 4 weeks off until early 2020. Unfortunately, his Hickman port got infected & he didn't  get 4 weeks off after the first 4week treatment. Instead, he had to have 7 days a week of antibiotic treatments that lasted at least 2 & 1/2 hours daily. Once the infection healed, he got his Hickman replaced with a port that was placed under the chest for easier access to blood draws. He got his port about 8 days ago, it seems to be healing well & he is feeling better! He starts back up on Arsenic & ATRA tomorrow 9-2. Thanks for your support & prayers! ❤
