Journal entry by Jackie Harden —
Dear family, friends, acquaintances & those who read the updates & did not comment. It has been just over a week since we buried my dear Tim. I am continually amazed at the many expressions of condolences, the many cards, phone calls, songs shared, devotionals given, invites over & of course the numerous prayers. I can say that the Lord has been so good to surround me with all of these plus a community of faith that has gone over & above in supporting me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Tim was so well honoured in his celebration service & I believe God was truly glorified through it as well. He wanted the gospel to be shared & it was! Thank you to everyone who took part in his service.
The most common question I have been getting from people, is “How are you doing?” Though I will miss him a lot, especially our times of prayer together every evening, I am very thankful that he is not suffering anymore & is fully healed of not only his cancer, but heart disease & many, many years of arthritic pain. I can only rejoice with him & know that our separation is just temporary. The best description of this is a poem written by my dear friend, Judith Gooding. She writes,
When the separated become reunited,
The unseen becomes seen,
The unknown becomes known,
The only-imagined becomes reality,
When God Himself takes your hand and welcomes you Home…
Can it be dying?
No.
Never again dying.
Never again death.
Only Life-forevermore!
May you too, have these wonderful assurances because you & your loved ones know this Saviour who died for you.
God bless each & every one of you.
With much love & gratitude, Jackie
