Newest Update

Journal entry by michelle lohse

Merry Christmas to all! We feel very blessed this Christmas! Thank you all for the thoughts, prayers and calls!❤️ Tim continues to work on regaining his strength. He has been going to OT/PT and also does daily home exercises. Tim woke up at 3:00 am Tuesday morning with a gushing bloody nose. He woke mom up and they worked to get the bleeding to stop for 2.5 hours! It continued to gush blood so off to the ER they went! The doctor put a rhino rocket in Tim’s right nostril. His blood pressure was high too. He was supposed to see Dr. Dittberner Tuesday afternoon but she pushed it back to Thursday morning to give the rhino rocket some time to do its job. At around 4 pm Tuesday Tims nose started bleeding but they were able to get it to stop. Tim’s appt on Thursday morning couldn’t come quick enough for Tim! Tim’s appt with Dr. Dittberner ended up lasting all morning because Tim’s blood pressure was high. He restarted his Amlodipine and finally at about 11:30 am it was low enough for her to pull the rhino rocket! She said there is a good chance he may end up in the ER over the weekend with another bad bloody nose. She explained that he is very susceptible to these because he was on a ventilator and is now breathing differently than he had been. Plus the air is dry. Tim’s  blood work was good! Tim still can’t be left alone, can’t drive or work. Those things will change with time and increased strength! His immune system is depleted right now so he has to be careful not to catch any illnesses. He has been staying home other than going out for appts. He will see Dr. Dittberner again next week.

Mom continues to cough since having covid. She said it seems to be getting worse so she saw Dr. Dittberner and had a chest x-ray. She has some fluid on her left lung which is causing it to be partially collapsed. This explains all her coughing. She was given some breathing exercises and a course of steroids to try. She will follow-up with Dr. Dittberner next week too.

We are hoping that things continue to move in the right direction and that we don’t have to update this site anymore. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!❤️❤️❤️
