Journal entry by Hannah Johnson

Tiffany’s brain surgery on November 22, 2019 was successful. Three days later she experienced several severe seizures and a small stroke. She lost her ability to speak and the cognitive ability for speech. Luckily, it only took her a couple of weeks to get nearly back to normal. After a nine day hospital stay she was released and her neuro team has been pleased with her healing since then. She continues to run her montessori program from her home, along with the assistance of several employees. However, in order to heal she spends a lot of time sleeping. What time when she is awake she deciates hours to running her companies. Due to the cognitive effects of her surgery and healing everything takes a bit longer than she would like, but overall she is healing well and learning so much from this experience. She has stated that this is by far the most significant and in-depth, soul searching, vulnerable yet healing experience of her life. Her partner, Jacob, has taken on the role of being a full-time caregiver while also taking on all of Tiffany’s previous home and family tasks in addition to working hard to provide for their family. This experience has been more than they imagined, with many ups and downs, but they continue to rely on each other (and family and friends) to get through this the best that they can and come out even stronger than before. Any and all forms of support are greatly appreciated as they continue this journey. Tiffany will start chemotherapy the first week of February 2020. After a couple months of more healing time for her brain, she will begin radiation. The love and support that they have already been showered with has greatly helped them through this time! Thank you to everyone who is able to help.
