Journal entry by Heather Tyrrell —
183 days, that’s 4,390.75 hours, during which we spent roughly 1,098 minutes combined washing our hands. Also acombined 9,882 miles on our vehicles in commuting back and forth to the NICU. 6 months of prayers and good thoughts and best wishes from family, friends, colleagues, and complete strangers. Relationships made with the front desk ladies, the doctors and the nurses to whom we might not ever cross paths again. Countless sleepless nights, stress filled days and early mornings. From 1lb 0.6oz to 8lbs 2oz.Milestones and setbacks, multiple surgeries and operations for us to finally be able to say we are out of here. As of 11:45a.m on June 20th 2022, Thompson is a graduate of the NICU and able to come home with Mom and Dad. Though we are not out of the woods and have a long road ahead of us, we would like to thank everyone for the support and help and following Thompson’s story.
