Thomas’s Story

Site created on September 22, 2020

Hello friends and family! This journal is to provide updates on my dad's battle with cancer and rehabilitation journey. I've gotten very busy handling his affairs and it's easier for me to provide updates this way - a single post rather than updating each of you individually. Please feel free to leave positive notes for my dad as this is great for his outlook and morale! - Catriona

Journal entry by Catriona Guthrie

Hello everyone,

Dad's funeral service was yesterday. He looked great - I requested that the funeral home dress him in his full kilt and he will be cremated that way. My Aunt Val led the service, my brother spoke and after reaching out to the local Scottish Heritage Society, I was able to get a piper to agree to perform with incredibly short notice and he did a phenomenal job. Dad was sent off in style and exactly the way I think he would have wanted.

We were able to purchase a container for dad's cremains from the funeral home that is TSA approved and we can bring on a plane. As soon as COVID precautions and finances (and life!) allows, he will be returned home.

Thank you to everyone who followed his story, laughed with us, cried with us, and shared stories of their own experiences with my dad. I know you all meant so much to him and he would have been grateful for the well wishes and notes of support and love.

Peace be with you all,

-Catriona

**EDITED TO ADD**
I have a quantity of unopened feeding tube supplies. Bags for the Moog Enteralite Infinity pump, the pump itself, 2Cal and Nepro formulas. If anyone knows of anyone who can use these, they can have them free if someone can porch pickup from Palmyra. Thank you.
