Journal entry by AJ Craig —
We had our first follow up with the Plastics Doc this AM, and we are now without drains! Removed lickety-split while we were in there this AM! She is going to be much more comfy moving forward. Not to mention she -hated- even having to glance at them. They certainly were not the most attractive things, but definitely necessary.
After that we went and saw CoCo and Josh and she got her hair washed at styled. Patient Diva is alive and well. She looks like the SuzieQ we all know and love again, at least for a little bit. :)
We got home Thursday afternoon; and all-in-all, it's been a-ok fine. Removing the catheters from the nerve block in her back proved interesting, but she and I got through it. The "Wonderful Wizard of Oz" song will never have the same lightness it used to. LOL. We have her pain well managed and she is comfortable, eating well.
To everyone who has sent flowers, gifts, meals, or snacks..... Thank You. The little "treats" have helped a lot. Both in nourishment of our bodies but also of our spirits. Lots of folks have stopped in to visit both at home and at the hospital, and that's amazing too! Warm smiles and fresh faces are always welcome.
The kindness, generosity, warmth, and love have been uplifting to say the least.
XOXO
