Journal entry by Theresa Gaffey —
I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in October after a routine mammogram. Biopsies show it's spread to the lymph nodes. Over the last 4 weeks I've had over 21 appointments, calls, video sessions, and I had my first chemo on Friday. I am in very good hands with Dr. Krie at Allina's Piper Breast Center. But I have 5 months of chemo, then surgery, then radiation ahead of me. I am looking forward to a great cruise to Norway, Iceland, Svalbard and Scotland next summer with my sisters Paula and Maureen and Anne Cook, a new sister we met on the last voyage to Antarctica in 2020 just before COVID hit.
Send your prayers and positive energy my way.
