Theo’s Story

Site created on June 1, 2022

Welcome to Theo’s Caring Bridge!  We’re trying to keep everyone who loves our Theo up to date and this seems like the perfect way! For those of you who don’t know. Theo, our 5 year old , talkative,  imaginative, warrior man has been diagnosed with B Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Please keep him in your daily prayers and use this site to keep up on his path to victory.  We are being tested greatly in every way possible by this and are so encouraged and held up by your prayers.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Anna Kurvers

Hi everyone!

I know it’s been a long long time since I’ve updated you all. But no news is good news in this case so  that’s ok! I just wanted to post a few pictures and show you how powerful all of your prayers are and how well Theo is doing.
He had an amazing summer and got to make up all of the trips that we missed after his diagnosis last summer.  Looking back on where we were a year ago makes us so grateful for every fun day we have as a family.
The Fall has been a bit tougher with all of the fun sicknesses going around. ( but we’re not alone in that I know!) Seems like we’ve had a bug in the house for 2 months straight. Theo’s immune system being so compromised makes each sickness a lot more worrisome. Trying to still be out and about, but every fever still means an ER visit for us so we’re having to get back into a more cautious approach towards crowds.

                           TOY DRIVE!
Last year we hosted a toy drive for Theo’s treatment hospital and it was a huge success. So we’re gonna go for it again! During his many hospital admissions in those first 6 months he was gifted so many blankets, toys, games etc in the hospital to make it all seem more fun and exciting. It was such a blessing to have those little moments of excitement for him. We want to help the next kiddos who go through this feel those same moments of relief from reality.  We will have an in person drop off event next month and will have the kids deliver the load the week of Thanksgiving to bring some cheer to those stuck in the hospital over that holiday.  But if you’re farther away and want to participate I will attach an Amazon wishlist here! It should have our address attached and we can add your toy to the load!

As always, most importantly, thank you so much for your continued prayers. We are looking forward to the end of treatment December 2024, but still have a long way to go. We are so grateful for you all.
